[NEWS] 130516 Kang Sora’s Body Got Prettier By Fixing Her Posture Rather Than Dieting
Kang Sora revealed that her body got prettier not because of a diet but because of fixing her posture.
On May 14, a press conference for the upcoming SBS daily drama “Ugly Alert” was held where Kang Sora attended as part of the cast. During the event, she revealed, “My weight hasn’t changed much but I have fixed my posture.”
She continued, “I’ve been playing student roles for a while but now that I have a very feminine role, I took a lot of care to that,” and “I tried to change my walk and fix my posture.”
Kang Sora will be playing the role of Na Do Hee, who is a successful workaholic, working for her grandfather’s fashion company.
Kang Sora also talked about her Na Do Hee character and said, “I was attracted to the multiple aspects of this character’s personality,” and “I hope the viewers can see how the characters support each other and grow. I personally want to show a more feminine side of myself that I haven’t shown before.”
“Ugly Alert” will air its pilot episode on May 20.

Kang Sora responded to questions about how she’s changed her image for her next role.
On May 14, Kang Sora attended the press conference at the SBS Mokdong branch for the new SBS daily drama ‘Ugly Alert‘. She confessed, “I didn’t lose that much weight. I’ve always played student roles, but this time, my character is an adult woman, so I just wanted to look more womanly. I thought that [my character] would have gotten lessons on how to sit and walk properly, so I paid special attention to my posture.“
It looks like just a change in attitude and posture can make you look great!

Kang Sora shared her thoughts on the upcoming first broadcast of ‘Ugly Alert’.
On 9th May, Kang Sora stated that she was totally hooked with the SBS new daily drama ‘Ugly Alert’ (script written by Jung Ji Woo, directed by Shin Yoon Seop).
Na Do Hee, the character she plays in the drama is a head of planning team of a clothing company and even though she is somewhat a person who born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she is not that kind of woman who would just make use of her rich upbringing.
For someone who believes that one’s power can only be achieved by one’s true self, she has been working like a workaholic more than anyone else and had a quick promotion. And to prove her worth to the company, she decided to own a store at Dongdaemun separately. The reason is because the company is her grandfather’s business in the first place and it has grown into present SY Apparel.
She is a character full of ambition in the way she chose to walk the same self-made path that her grandfather had taken to bring up the company into a global brand.
“I have always been yearning for a great woman role. Since I like a character of someone who leads and is independent rather than the role of a woman who expects and relies on others to make it in life, I always talk about wanting to do career woman role every time I have interview session. So I’m really happy to get to play for the greatest role of all the career woman role there is,” said Kang Sora about her character.
Also “Every character made by the scriptwriter Jung Ji Woo has twofoldness/ambivalence element to it. If the character has a bright side, there will also be a dark side to it. Each of the different side which has been kept hidden deeply inside the character makes it’s charm comes alive. And it’s a character of a rich person (laughs), it’s my first time to play such role, and moreover I only got to play the roles of someone who had one-sided love before but this time I’m the one who receive love so I like it.” said Kang Sora showing her immense liking to the character itself.
According to the production official of ‘Ugly Alert’, “Even though Kang Sora is a young actress, through her steady acting ability, she can make the character’s appeal comes alive with her very best effort. It looks like that she’s having fun while acting,” stated the official as a favorable review about Kang Sora’s acting attitude.
Kang Sora’s charm will shine the SBS new daily drama ‘Ugly Alert’ which it’s first broadcast will be on Monday, 20th May at 7.20pm.

Q. There were times that the members made you sad?
A.When I got out for my first break, it was really the first time that I was able to get out after a period of 3 months so I thought that I should do this and do that with the members and go for a vacation with the members. After getting out, when I said “do this together with me” to the members, the members said “hyung, sorry, I have schedules”, “hyung, sorry, I am busy”..because they said that, I was hurt and I went to watch movies alone, watched movies via vod and for the 4 nights and 5 days, I was stuck in the house.
OX quiz – after I, Leeteuk, enlisted (I led the army life comfortably as someone who is closely acquainted with SNSD / became crazy of choco pies / there are veteran soldiers that I am quite afraid of / there were times that i cried / there were times that Super Junior members made me sad) It was supposed to be a OX quiz but he answered O for everythingㅋ ㅋ
Q. The person that you miss the most?
A. Probably because I am a soldier, my family.. I miss my family the most. I miss women the most.
Q. When do you miss the fans the most?
A. When I went in to the army for the first time of course. When I was a training soldier, the members had a performance in South America so the fans took pictures of the performances, wrote a letter and sent the pictures to me, I felt rather lonely(after reading the letters).

Q. How were the four months you spent doing the musical?
» My mission was the musical so I only focused on doing the musical. I did my best and worked hard to get a good result.
Q. What did you do during the musical days?
» It was really practice as soon as I woke up, and practice till I closed my eyes (to sleep). It was 有生無生 (you are alive but you are not living). Live only for musical and die only for musical. Personally, it was my first musical. There was an image that the representative of Army Promotion, and personal Park Jung Su image to be kept so I was very stressed. But this was a work I did my best in.
Q. Out of your day schedules, what time is your favorite time?
» I like the time I spend doing interviews like this.
Q. But interviews aren’t done every day?
» That’s why I want to do interviews more frequently. When I was in the society, people would ask “How does Leeteuk-ssi relieve your stress?” I would have replied “I relieve it while doing variety shows.” I am not good in drinking alcohol… and I did not have a girlfriend.. so doing variety shows, and laughing and talking with others was a happiness for me. Being in front of the camera and talking like this is a big happiness for me.
Q. Coming into promotional service now, what do you anticipate for the most?
» Uh, the time to read books… I haven’t had time to read books. I have arrived here just yesterday so I will need time to adjust… to see how things work here. I still have piles of laundry I have to do. I have to do cleaning with Kim Mooyeol first ranked private officer. I don’t think it’s time for me to have a different private time yet.
Q. Is choco-pie still the most delicious food to you?
» No.
Q.What is most delicious now then?
» I think meat is the best
Q.Like JaeYook mixed rice?
» I also want to eat ttokbbokki… and… I like foods with strong flavors.. I didn’t eat many chocolate products like choco-pie and choco-snacks even when I was in the society. I happened to eat it a lot when I was at church during training weeks. After hearing about the chocolate snacks, many people have sent… it to me in large quantities… the marshmallow inside is said to have enough (calories) to circle around the world. I am now wondering how many times I will have to go around the world.
Q. This was your first musical. What charm did you feel from it?
» I felt again that my job was full of charms. I felt very happy doing concerts, and while doing the musical, I felt many similar feelings. Because it was a live stage, I was able to interact with the audience. And because it’s not a recording like this, in each performance, the emotions I felt was different. Depending on my condition, I felt new emotions too. I was very surprised at myself. I thank the army again for giving me this chance. I think I will be able to work in more musicals after I return from the army. I thank the army again for opening the door of opportunity for me.
Q. Please talk about one funny episode from when you were performing?
» In our last performance in Seoul, Kim MooYeol first ranked private officer told me this before going in. “Many actors do many adlibs in last performance. So you can have some flexibility, don’t be so strict to yourself today.” But.. he did too many adlibs. I have done many broadcasts before and really loved doing adlibs but his adlibs… suddenly, in middle of 6.25 war, he told us to lie down. I didn’t do it but… the audience enjoyed it. I learned many things while doing this musical. It was a very fun time.
Q. Please select the best scene?
» It’s divided in first and second act. In the first act, Park Sun Woo actor who did Mr.2 is in there… He died in the end of the first act. The song we 7 sung … and the scene where I ran to him and cried, I think that was the best scene for me.
Q. What do you want to do most when you return from the army?
» I want to be very good to senior officers (people who have been to army before him).
Q.How?
» Jung JiHoon sunbaenim is a senior officer right now. He is the best… so I will work hard to help him from the side. Not just him but other senior officers have worked hard before we came. I think we will have to take on the work starting now. I want to become closer with them… and the Demaclub homepage.. I will try to appear many times on there.
Q. Who welcomed you most when you came to the promotional division?
» Jung JiHoon sunbaenim welcomed me greatly and Lee SangChu first ranked private officer also welcomed me.
Q. You two have met again!
» I was very happy to see him again.
Q. One more thing to say about your future activities in the army?
» I am one person who came because I was called by the country. It is a duty not a burden. I will do my best. It’s also the 60th anniversary since 6.25 war. The meaning have been changed or forgotten during the years. I will do my best to let many know the real meaning again. Until 2014 July 28th, I will do my best to let many know that Korean soldiers work hard and do their best.

Leeteuk: I remember the (first 5 week) training the most. I received about 10,000 letters. I received a lot. The letter I remember is… In training, you rarely have chance to eat sweet snacks except for the choco-pies that are given at church… but one fan sent small snacks wrapped in tissue, saying she did this for her brother before. She sent one daily. Sometimes she’d send thin chocolate snacks too… I felt that this was a bigger gift than anything else.
Q: Leeteuk-ssi, recently Kang Sora-ssi said you have become more manly and that she still has the bracelet you gave her. How do you feel?
Leeteuk: First, I think she kept the bracelet because it was made of gold (laugh). And she said I have become more manly. Like people say, Korean men only become real men after coming back from the army. If she says I have become more manly just in the few months I have been here, I think I will be much more manly when I come out in 2014. I will do my best in the remaining time to do whatever tasks given to me. I miss KangSora-ssi too. Thank you.
